How much does it cost to join DiasporaBuild as a contractor?
Creating a contractor profile and accessing the DiasporaBuild marketplace is free. No monthly subscription is required to receive and respond to diaspora project opportunities. Contractors who want to manage their own clients and construction teams can optionally subscribe to Espace Pro (€9/seat/month) or Espace Business (€19/seat/month), with a 14-day free trial.
What documents must I provide to be verified?
Trade register (RCCM/CBI), tax certificate, professional body (Order of Architects or equivalent per trade), 10-year liability insurance certificate (if applicable), 3 references from past projects.
How long does verification take?
48 to 72 working hours. We systematically call the 3 past client references (the famous 'missing phone call' on other platforms).
How are jobs allocated?
The diaspora client publishes their brief, verified companies receive the notification, each sends its proposal. The client compares and decides. No platform favouritism.
Am I obliged to accept milestone payments?
Yes — it's the counterpart of the 'verified' label. In exchange, the transfer is triggered as soon as the milestone is validated (versus 30–90 days on average when dealing directly).
What happens if the client wrongly refuses a milestone?
Free mediation within 5 days. A properly documented file (photos, reports, delivery notes) is your best protection: mediation relies first on evidence of the work performed.

We reject applications that cannot be documented: unverifiable past projects, expired 10-year insurance, or an unresolved dispute appearing on public registers. This standard protects our registered companies by shielding them from unfair competition, and it reassures diaspora clients who historically only trusted their family — often at their own expense. An architect registered with the Order in Cameroon (MINHDU), Côte d'Ivoire (BNETD), Senegal (DUA), Nigeria (ARCON) or Kenya (BORAQS) finds with us the high-purchasing-power diaspora clientele they struggle to reach through their local network.
