False ceiling / Suspended ceiling

It improves aesthetics by hiding imperfections in the original ceiling and allowing for better integration of lighting. It also offers better thermal and acoustic insulation. If poorly installed, it can sag, crack, or even fall, and access for maintaining the hidden installations can be difficult.

Very popular for its modern look and the possibility of integrating designer lighting. However, beware of humidity, which can quickly degrade plasterboards. Suspension frames are sometimes undersized or poorly fixed, causing sagging, especially in humid areas like bathrooms. PVC false ceilings are a more moisture-resistant alternative.
